The truth about Geraldine Ferraro

In 1994 Geraldine Ferraro was inducted into the The National Women's Hall of Fame (NWHF), located in Seneca Falls, NY, and it is worth reading the NWHF entry about about her. It is the most truthful characterization of her I have read on the web lately.

And, just for fun, here is the best discussion I've read lately about what is involved in selecting vice-presidential candidates these days.

And sadly, here we are 24 years later, and no other woman has been on a major presidential ticket. And the Democratic Party still doesn't get it.

Unfortunately, it's not just the Democratic Party which doesn't get it. Sexism, misogyny and plain old stupidity are all still very much alive and faring more than well in ALL facets of our society. What is truly scary is how many people, women especially, who doubt that fact...

By the way Heidi, I love the first few comments after that article on vp picking....this one in particular gave me a chuckle

Dick Cheney will get the job. Even if he has to take them hunting."
