An offer I would like not to refuse: Senator Clinton's delegates are getting organized and have asked for a hand

Given the extremely delicate negotiations ongoing between Senator Clinton's and Senator Obama's respective campaigns, Senator Clinton's delegates have, like all of us, been having trouble getting very specific information and guidance from Senator Clinton's campaign. (We know we are not going to get anything useful from the DNC.) This clothedmouthedness is completely normal when high stakes negotiations are underway. For we interested observers, the situation is frustrating, but we have to live with it.

Senator Clinton's delegates have been coordinating on their own, however, which they have every right to do. They are supporting one another and attempting to prepare a nominating petition to be used at the convention if the usual rules apply. Of course none of Senator Clinton's delegates want to put her in an awkward position, either during the current negotiations or at the party convention itself.

Throughout the day, the Clinton delegates have been preparing a petition, which requires the collection of a certain number of delegate signatures from different state delegations. Then, they need a safe place to send their signatures. It is with real honor that I tell readers of this space that the delegates have asked me to consider accepting their signatures and to keep the paperwork safe until the time when it might be used to aid Senator Clinton. The delegates know I will guard that paperwork with my life. They also know that I will not release it without being sure that any such release will not harm Senator Clinton, who I continue to hold in the highest esteem.

Right now, logistical details are being finalized and I hope that once they are I can lend Senator Clinton's delegates a hand. They are certainly making every effort to lend her one.

I will communicate more settled information when I have it.

Worst case scenario: obama gets the nomination and somehow wins in November. Not only will I and every rational thinker in this world be devastated but I truly believe this country will be in for some of the worst times with respect to the economy, social divides, wars, loss of civil liberties, etc. that our nation has ever witnessed.

But despite all of that, I will always look back on the year of 2008 and remember it was the year that I had the great honor of meeting, albeit in cyberspace, one of the most selfless, decent, humble, brilliant, hardworking, kind and generous patriots that I have ever known, and perhaps will ever know, in my lifetime.
I thank you Heidi Li Feldman, I thank you with all my heart.

There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said, but it bears repeating: The day I found Heidi Li's Potpourri was a great day! You have always brought calm and clear thinking to often confusing situations. It's obvious that the Clinton delegates know what an ally they have in you.

No matter what happens in August or in November, you will always have a very special place in the hearts of every person who has (virtually) met you.

Thank you for everything you have done, and continue to do, on behalf of Senator Clinton and all of us.

I never end my day without reading your blog. This is such an uplifting bit of information - to know that everyone who knows you trusts you to do the right thing! If only the DNC would model you! I keep thinking that somehow, someway justice will be served in the end. This is a great start toward that end! I speak for 18 million + One (wink, wink!) when I say "Thank you" Heidi Li!!!

Heidi , what Obama and company don't seem to understand is, you cannot make the choice of 18 million voters disappear and win their votes.

This battle has always been about Hillary's voters even more than Hillary, and she would agree! If BO wants Hillary's voters, he HAS to honor their choice, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Obama's inablity to grasp this actually helps Hillary cause and makes me hopful for Denver. If BO and company were smart, they would be more welcoming to her

The fact these people chose you makes me very optimistic about their integrity and loyalty.

It breaks my heart to see Senator Clinton campaigning for a candidate so clearly inferior to her in every respect. Her loyal delegates must feel the same way.

You can tell the delegates this:

Hillary is entitled to have her name on the ballot. Period. It is her choice. This had nothing to do with her debt, with Obama's or anyone else's wishes, etc.

She has enough delegate support so that under the DNC rules, it will be totally her decision whether she wants her name placed in nomination or not.

Has progress been made on the initiative you wrote of a few weeks ago, to have you hold the 'signatures' of Clinton delegates needed to place her in nomination? I know this is a very delicate subject, but I was hoping you could put some kind of update on your blog. It would bring hope to so many of us.
Thank you so much,
PS I have donated to the Denver Group and will again this week.
