Hey Mark Penn, are you enjoying Independence Day?

As some readers of this blog know, I have sought repeatedly to contact Mark Penn in an effort to find out if he would forgive some or all the millions of dollars he is charging Senator Clinton on top of the millions he has already received for services rendered.

Mr. Penn has not seen fit to reply to me substantively or even to acknowledge my several messages left at his offices delivered by fax, phone and email. Perhaps on Monday I will send a certified letter.

I know the Clinton campaign will pay the smaller vendors owed money for services rendered during the primary season before paying Mr. Penn any more money. And I presume that Mr. Penn will at least wait his turn.

Today, when so many people with far less wealth than Mr. Penn or Senator Clinton will be donating to retire the debt, I cannot help but hope that Mr. Penn will be suffering more than a bit of shame for his failure to even acknowledge polite messages left with him about an important business matter.

Meanwhile I hope the organizers of Just Say No Deal, WomenCountPac (by the way, I have added that group to the Keeping The Democratic Party democratic Act Blue page I maintain) and countless other groups feel the pride they so richly should in their amazing effort in mobilizing people to contribute to Hillary Clinton for President for purposes of retiring the debt.

Every single person who makes such a contribution today - because s/he is keeping faith with Senator Clinton as Senator Clinton keeps faith with us- should feel not only enormous pride but will I hope feel a moment of personal glory, in keeping with the true spirit of '76.

Happy 4th, Mark Penn. I look forward to hearing from you - but I won't expect to anytime soon.

Heidi, thanks for the reminder. I just used your link to send my $20.08 contribution to Hillary. It's all I can afford right now. But hopefully, thousands of PUMA's are doing the same thing and we'll get this debt paid off.

Heidi, my family has made our contribution of $20.08 today to Senator CLinton's debt. It feels good to continue to give back to Senator Clinton, as she gave so much of herself to us.

Heidi and Marc, your interview on NoQuarter was outstanding. You have my first contribution and more will come. I believe in you and thank you for your efforts.

The night that Hillary suspended her campaign, I donated $100.00 towards retiring her debt. I specifically stated that I did not want the money to go to pay Mark Penn because I felt that he did not serve her well and that his other business represented a conflict of interest with his work for her.

Listened to your interview with Marc Rubin on No Quarter. It's great to listen to some sensible voices. I shall come back to lurk here and over at Tom In Paine!

I pass along this quote because it seems particularly appropriate to the efforts of The Denver Group to have Hillary Clinton's name entered into nomination at the convention. The quote was delivered by Ted Kennedy during his speech at the 1980 convention, one in which he took his challenge for the nomination all the way to the convention floor. He trailed front-runner Jimmy Carter, a sitting president running for re-election, by nearly 1,000 delegates at the time.

“There were some who said we should be silent about our differences on issues during this convention,” Senator Kennedy told the conventioneers, “but the heritage of the Democratic Party has been a history of democracy. We fight hard because we care deeply about our principles and purposes. We did not flee this struggle. We welcome the contrast with the empty and expedient spectacle last month in Detroit where no nomination was contested, no question was debated, and no one dared to raise any doubt or dissent.”

Obviously, the Democratic Party now prefers unity over democracy or fairness.

I donated $10.44 today, which is all I could afford; it's not the $20.08 most of the websites wanted, but it's something -- and the .44 on the end definitely indicates I want Hillary Clinton as our next President.

As for Mark Penn, he should be ashamed of himself, but I'm afraid someone as obnoxious as he is probably isn't. Not an evolved individual, Penn; not evolved at all.

Well, Penn has thousands if not millions as much as I do, but I support Hillary Clinton; he only supports himself. That probably will be his epitaph.

My sister, mom and I pooled $120.08 for Hillary today. Heidi, I trust that you will find out how much was raised and when Hillary is finally free!! I wish I could see her face when she is told that her loving and loyal supporters are still here for her. :)
