Time out for Q & A

Some folks have sent me questions via their comments. I've rounded them up, and I am answering a couple now, starting with a simple one first. But all questions are welcome, and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

Q: What does POTUS stand for? A: President of the United States.

Q: Do the superdelegates vote in the first ballot? A: Unpledged delegates (another term for superdelegates or automatic delegates) vote whenever pledged delegates do. At the convention the first order of business will be any issues then before the Credentials Committee to resolve precisely which delegates will be credentialed for voting purposes. Votes can occur via roll call or by voice vote. Important note, made before: unpledged delegates are just that: unpledged right up to the minute they cast a vote - so while they can signal their intentions they cannot bind themselves prior to a vote at the convention.
