This is a terrific post, Heidi! A nice overview you have covering the diverse aspects of retiring Hillary's debt.
My favourite reason: a slap in the face to the DNC.
I am curious about what specific reason gives satisfaction to others contributors?

Why retire the debt?
Because it's the right thing to do.
It tells the DNC and the world that Hillary Clinton still has the support that has brought her this far. It empowers her - and, in particular, it empowers us: the big and little people of all colors and shapes, gender and status, who still believe in the democratic principles that have guided this nation (and should have guided the nominating process in the primary.)
Any amount is another brick that builds our case.

Does anyone know how far we have brought the debt down?
I can't find anyplace that shows what the current debt is.
