A Donation to RETIRE THE DEBT = A hug for Hillary

An amazing supporter of Senator Clinton's accepted my challenge to donate today - I had said that if $100 came in by 5:00 pm I'd post this picture, from the first occasion on which I met Senator Clinton (in February of this year, at her home) - and this wonderful person just put in the entire $100 himself. If the picture makes you smile, please consider donating even five dollars to RETIRE THE DEBT.

Very cute picture! You are a super supporter, probably the superest (I made that word up because as speaker of the house I will enact legislation so that I can make up new words) she could ever dream of!

that is an awesome picture. What nice big grins. :-)

On another note: is there somewhere we can find out how much the debt has been reduced? They used to put up graphs to show how close we'd gotten to x y or z fundraising drive; is there something like that to show how far we've come with this effort? I think it would inspire people to know...

How can I say this. It is so good to see who you are. Even if you were the best actress in the world I don't think you could make that smile as happy as it is shown here.

Heidi. I want the next photo of you and Hillary taken in the Rose Garden, and we may still see that happen.

You are one of my heroes.

No. These days you are my hero.

Love from Lewisburg and be well.

To see this picture with you and Hillary - and having the experience of contributing in my own little way to the retirement of the campaign debt - have generated in me the powerful feeling of solidarity. And that again causes me to ponder about the phenomenon of solidarity and it's effect of empowerment. It is not, to me, the same feeling as contributing to a campaign in the hope of winning, because in doing that, we give towards our own interests as well. But to retire this debt, thus empowering Hillary as a person for however she will want to put to use this empowerment, expresses my trust in her and my solidarity with her. It's unconditional - a mighty good feeling, empowering me again!

Transcending, as you say, in a positive spiral (as oposed to a vicious circle)

Thank you for this!
